About Leslie

Truth. Hope. Relationship.

These are the messages Leslie McKee wants to get out to the world about her relationship with a Living God.

With her new EP, "True to You", on the Creative Soul Records label, Leslie shares songs from her heart and life, hoping to make a real impact with those she serves, lives with, and sings to.

After being involved with several singing groups through the years, Leslie felt called to step out in faith into ministry on her own. Through attending several Christian artist conferences in the Nashville, TN area over the past few years, she has been able to develop relationships with people who are equipping her to be able to do this. While at one of the CIA Summits, Leslie met Nashville-based vocal coach Brett Manning, who she has worked with for several years in developing vocally. She has also connected with Eric Copeland of Creative Soul Records in the Nashville area, who not only produced, but wrote the songs for Leslie's first project, True to You.

"Being introduced to Eric is without a doubt a "God thing" in my life. I feel blessed to be able to work with such a gifted songwriter, musician and producer. He was able to take my thoughts and turn them into amazing songs."

While Leslie has been developing artistically, God has been at work growing her spiritually as well, drawing her closer to his heart.

"More than anything, I want to be found faithful in his sight-being true to what He has called me to do. It's really easy to get caught up in what the world says you should do."

The title song "True to You" is based on that thought and is taken from Psalm 86:11. "Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart that I may honor you."

Part of being true to what God desires of each one of us really, is sharing his love with those around us. Sometimes we get so caught up in what's going on in our own lives that we fail to see the needs of those around us. "One More" challenges us to step out of our comfort zones and reach out to others in need. There is a world full of people who are desperate to hear of our Savior who loves us unconditionally. There is nothing we can do in this life that can go beyond the reach of God's love and grace, as is heard on "Never Too Far".

"Someone to Call Your Own" is an all-too familiar reflection on the emptiness and loneliness that result in the lives of those who have walked through broken families, especially in children. They need to know that there is Someone who calls us his own, who adopts us as his sons and daughters, and can always be counted on to be there for us.

In addition to personal ministry, Leslie leads worship at churches throughout her local area. Leslie is also at work in encouraging others in their giftings by giving private music lessons.
